Mon coup de gueule : en Mai 2007, Amina, appelée par la FBB, est venue en France. Avec une responsable, elles se sont rendues à l'ambassade d'Egypte dans le but d'aider les Egyptiens dans des campagnes de stérilisation. La FBB demandait en échange au gouvernement égyptien de s'engager dans cette campagne. BB à la suite d'appels au secours que j'avais lancés fin 2005 à mon retour d'Egypte et des appels lancés par Nadine Pla en 2007accompagnés par d'horribles photos, avait envoyé deux courriers restés sans effet, à part une intervention du Pt Moubarak de demander une enquête à ses services vétérinaires en charge des tueries à la strychnine et par balles diffusantes. La FBB semble n'avoir pas donné suite et Amina se retrouve face à une situation extrêmement difficile car ce sont des dizaines de milliers de chats et chiens errants assassinés chaque année. Voici le SOS reçu ce matin 21 Septembre 2007. Dites-moi que ce ne sont pas des monstres humains qui ont envahi la planète !

Plus bas, vous trouverez une lettre en anglais et les adresses mail des officiels égyptiens. Par un copié-collé, envoyez cette lettre à votre tour en mettant vos noms, ville, pays. Merci. Je vous propose comme objet de ce courrier : "Humankind without compassion is a curse."  L'humanité sans compassion est une malédiction.

Qui est Amina Abaza, présidente de Spare Egypte ? Une très grande dame de la P.A. Elle se bat au quotidien pour les humains déshérités et les animaux torturés. Le refuge de Chabramant, dans la banlieu du Caire, accueille pour des soins gratuits les enfants aussi bien que les animaux dont les souffrances endurées dépassent l'imagination d'un humain normal... Les conditions sanitaires, devinez ? Un jour, Amina me disait qu'elle faisait cuire la nourriture des animaux du refuge à l'eau minérale. Mais pourquoi, Amina, ça doit te revenir très cher. Oui, mais, ma chérie, si je prends l'eau du robinet de Chabramant, elle est trop polluée... et par moc'est par moments les excréments

Mr Hosny Mubarack,

Sad and horrific news has arrived today with regard to the killing of dogs that you promised would come to an end. Unfortunately your subjects are not fulfilling your orders and on September, 3rd, the Governor of Guizah ordered the shooting of strays.

We find it difficult in trying to understand why you would waste public monies for the destruction of innocent animals. We suggest that you use these monies for the purpose of: Trap, Spay/Neuter/ and Release.   If what you are trying to do is to eradicate animals from the streets for the sake of tourism, we do not think this method will bring more tourists to your once great nation.

Mr Mubarack, as a head of a country you have the tools to enforce your orders.  We do not think you would like to be remembered as a killer of animals, but as a just and fair man who brought peace to all living creatures in your land. Dogs have been man's companions for thousands of years.  We do not think the Holy Koran permits the slaughter of the innocent creatures of Allah.

To sum up: Mr. President, if you do not put a stop to this massacre once and for all and implement humane methods such as massive spay/neuter campaigns to control this problem we will start an international boycott against everything that is Egyptian. This, of course, will affect tourism and we do not think this will benefit your economy. We are sending this e-mail to all of our contacts all over the world and to your national media, embassies, tourist agencies, and concerned animal welfare associations, plus the hundreds of thousand of supporters of said associations.

The slaughter was witnessed by several people who could not believe what they were seeing and could not understand such savagery on the part of public servants, especially those who have made a vow to cure animals and not harm them. The perpetrators of this brutality are Dr Abdallah Badr who is the chief veterinarian of Guizah department and his crew.
